Meet Our Staff

The lawyers of DeVore, Acton & Stafford, P.A., in Charlotte are proud of the professional paralegals and assistants on our staff. When an attorney is unavailable, our staff can usually quickly update you on the status of your case.

Jennifer Pearson Jennifer Pearson is an administrator for DeVore, Acton & Stafford, P.A., and has been with the firm since 2004. Her expertise is in customer service and client interaction. Her main focus is to address clients’ needs as well assisting the attorneys and paralegals with projects and administration of the office. You may reach Jennifer via 704-594-4227, ext. 10.

Cristina Arthur – Paralegal: who received a BA in Criminal Justice from Dominican University New York and a MA in Psychology from Touro University. She has been a paralegal for over 10 years with experience in personal injury, civil litigation, and insurance defense. She joined DeVore, Acton & Stafford, P.A. in June, 2022 and works with Joe Pellington. You may reach Cristina at 704-377-5242 ext. 14.

Susie Baker– Paralegal: is a native to Charlotte. She is a North Carolina State Bar Certified Paralegal since March 2007 with experience in civil litigation and has been with the firm since 1995. Susie attended Central Piedmont Community College’s Legal Secretary and Paralegal programs prior to employment with DeVore, Acton & Stafford, P.A. She works with Derek Adler and Troy Stafford. Susie’s primary fields include complex civil litigation, contract disputes, construction litigation, wrongful death, bad faith claims, small estate matters, personal injury and medical malpractice claims. She has handled cases in the State and Federal Courts of NC, the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, the NC Court of Appeals, the NC Supreme Court, NC Business Court and the NC Industrial Commission. Nancy Swoyer– Paralegal: is a North Carolina State Bar Certified Paralegal. She has a B.S. degree from Ithaca College and a Paralegal diploma from Central Piedmont Community College. She has been a paralegal for 20 years and joined DeVore, Acton & Stafford, P.A., in 2017. Nancy works primarily with Fred DeVore and Will DeVore in areas including personal injury, wrongful death and other civil matters. You may reach Nancy via 704-594-4227 ext. 16.

Connie Hunter – Paralegal: is a North Carolina Certified Paralegal who has been with DeVore, Acton & Stafford, P.A., since 1989. She works with Will DeVore and Derek Adler. During her tenure, Connie has been involved in various types of complex litigation matters from personal injury and wrongful death to synthetic stucco litigation and other construction litigation matters. Allison Cheswick – Paralegal: who has been with the firm since October 2022. Prior to employment with DeVore, Acton & Stafford, P.A., Allison graduated from Appalachian State with a degree in both Criminal Justice and Social Psychology and obtained her paralegal certificate from East Carolina University. She works with Brittany N. Conner as her lead paralegal, with experience primarily in the fields of contract disputes, construction litigation, wrongful death, bad faith claims, personal injury, and property damage.
